Roland Emerito Otadoy

Dr. Roland Emerito S. Otadoy is a Professor of Physics at the University of San Carlos (USC) in Cebu City. He graduated BS in Electronics and Communications Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of San Carlos in 1991. After a 4-year teaching stint at the USC Department of Physics he went to the National Institute of Physics (NIP), University of the Philippines-Diliman for his Ph.D. in Physics degreeunder the Engineering and Science Education Project (ESEP) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). In 1998 he went to VrijeUniversiteit-Amsterdam Department of Physics for his doctoral research under the Netherlands Joint Financing Programme for Cooperation in Higher Education working on theoretical mesoscopic superconductivity. His current research interest is in condensed-matter physics and geophysics. He is the Head of the Theoretical and Computational Sciences and Engineering Group, USC Department of Physics and the Project Leader of USC Phil LiDAR 1 and Phil LiDAR 2. He served as Chair of the USC Department of Physics from 2004-2009.
